For years I’d wanted to do something with the wall behind my bed in my own little place. I knew it needed some sort of pizzazz, and I had spent hours trying to choose a wallpaper (I even posted it on Facebook for advice…which did rather well for engagement actually!). The process
I didn’t share a style brief with them, because I didn’t have one to give (that was the problem!). I sent them the paint colours from the adjoining space, the colours of my bedsheets and a couple of videos of the room as it was, and left them to make sense of it. Within a couple of weeks I had a handful of mood boards back, all different, all cohesive. I picked out what I loved (there was one cushion I became slightly obsessed with), told them, and they refined it into one plan.
Then came the part that really changed the process for me: a spreadsheet with every recommended item, linked and priced, ready to click straight through. I ordered everything in under an hour. That alone was worth it, and as I write, I am eagerly anticipating the same for another property I run!
The cost to impact ratio has been exceptional
All in, wallpaper included, the whole thing cost under £500. The room has a warmth and character now that it simply didn’t before, guests have commented on it unprompted, and I’m now bringing Bea and Sophie onto my cohosting properties too, including the beach house and a new place I’m just taking on.
And let’s also factor in my time. Instead of hours and hours of trawling for something I’d be reasonably ok with, I spent around an hour in total (including comms with Bea) to achieve something I absolutely love and am very proud of.
